Job Description

This position works with the Director, Procurement in performing a full range of purchasing functions including sourcing and validating vendors; managing the MRP Planner; and performing analysis of needs and negotiating for best quality, service, and price.  This individual is responsible for coordinating the day to day interface with assigned vendors; the development of solid Company relationships through timely resolution of issues; the provision of services to include fulfillment of all orders within Company defined timeframes.

The Planning and Print Coordinator also will manage the daily operations of the graphic arts area, including coordinating label design, development and approval, company printing projects, and maintaining printing equipment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

A four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.  Must have strong analytical skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.  Must be a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.  Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible while working on several projects simultaneously.  A self-starter with a healthy curiosity to tackle loosely defined projects giving them structure and substance.  Flexibility and an understanding of multi-functional operations coupled with a professional work attitude and strong organization/communication skills.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color recognition.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Occasionally the job involves working around irritating noise levels. These levels are not damaging, but can be uncomfortable. The company makes earplugs available. Also in a typical workday the job may involve working around fumes, dust, and chemical hazards. If a project requires actual contact with any product, Material Safety Data Sheet information provides instruction about protective equipment that must be worn.
